Rebuild Technician

The Rebuild Technician provides assembly and testing of various mechanical components.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist other Rebuild Technicians
• Check Equipment IN OUT
• Driving Duties as assigned
• Inventory Incoming Iron
• Assist with Ultrasonic Testing
• Clean/Treat Iron
• Strip, Inspect, Clean, and Rebuild/Reassemble all required flow control components
• 2” 1502 Swivel
• 2” 1502 Plug Valves
• 2” 1502 All Other Kemper Valve Iron
• Prepare Parts for Magnetic Particle Inspection
• Knowledge of Kemper Valve Products and Customer Requirements
• Responsible for painting components per company/customer specifications
• Provides proper care and maintenance of all shop tools, equipment, and work area
• Assists with customers as needed
• Monitors daily work activities to ensure requirements are met
• Performs other routine duties
• Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with one to three years related experience.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, write, and speak in the English language.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.   Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.   Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities:
• Must have mechanical aptitude
• Valid Driver’s License – clear driving history

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.   The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel toed safety boots with metatarsal guards and safety glasses, in most areas of the facility.
