Putnam County school district to be awarded $2.4 million federal grant

The Putnam County Board of Education will receive a $2.4 million grant from the federal government, White House officials said.

The grant is the Youth CareerConnect Grant the White House is awarding to school districts across the country and in Puerto Rico that will help education systems partner with businesses to redefine school curricula across the country. In total, the federal government is awarding about $107 million in grants to 24 school districts in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Putnam County is the lone Georgia school district to be awarded a grant.
