Meetings watch: Clovis Municipal Schools Board of Education

The Clovis Municipal Schools Board of Education will meet 5:30 p.m. today at the central office building.

The board will discuss:

• The eight-item consent agenda includes food service report, investment report and budget and expenditure report for February, as well as requests for proposal for local phone service, long-distance service, Internet services and a roofing observer and consultant for James Bickley Elementary.

• Recognition of Clovis High School band director Bill Allred and volunteer of the year Cindy Martin.

• Request for permission to travel for Clovis High School band and migrant/federal program department.

• Consideration of a resolution authorizing the issuance and sale of general obligation school building and refunding bonds.

The amount to be issued is $9.3 million for the purpose of erecting, remodeling, making additions to and furnishing school buildings, as well as to improve school grounds and purchase computer software and hardware for student use in public schools.

• Consideration of 2012-2013 audit report and management’s response to audit findings.

• Consideration of sale of portable buildings and purchase of activity buses.
