There were more hugs than chest bumps at the end of the basketball game Thursday between Henrico High School and the Richmond Eagles, a matchup of high school students with intellectual disabilities.


It was senior recognition day for the Medford League, a basketball program for students with mild to severe intellectual disabilities, and the Warriors had just defeated the Eagles 29-8. The bleachers at Henrico High School were filled with parents, teachers and general education students there to cheer on the student-athletes.
